Innovation ‑ Implementation ‑ Sustainability
is a European Conference which will take place on May 6th at the University of Applied Sciences Fulda to bring together stakeholders in violence prevention. We will discuss what it takes to create a sustainable role for the health sector in violence prevention and intervention.
Leaders in the field from the World Health Organization and several European countries will present strategies that have shown promise in helping health actors collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the community, facilitating empathic, knowledgeable and protective care to violence victims. The key questions of the day are: What lessons have been learned in Europe? And what do we need in the long-term in order to achieve attitudinal change and sustainable violence prevention in community health?
The working group health protection and interpersonal violence of the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Fulda, the Hesse Department of Family, Labour and Health and Fulda County are pleased to invite practitioners, researchers and policy makers from health fields and health insurance, social work, criminal and civil justice, education, public administration and legislatures to contribute to this discussion.
The conference is being held in the framework of the 2010 European Week, the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion and is part of the Global Campaign for Violence Prevention.
