25 Feb 2026
It gives us great pleasure to announce that our member Norina Fischer has passed her defence at the FGCSS with flying colours. The defence of her doctoral thesis entitled "The Dimension of the Future in Globalized Lives of Young People Today: Imagining and Doing Future and the Transnational Study Parcourse of German Jordanian University Students" took place on 6 February 2026 and was awarded the overall grade "magna cum laude".
Ms Fischer's dissertation was completed under the initial supervisor Prof Dr Rixta Wundrak and the second supervisor Prof Dr Eva Gerharz. The reviewers Prof. Dr Carola Bauschke-Urban and Prof. Dr Ulrike Schultz praised the outstanding quality and innovative approach of the thesis.
The fact that Norina Fischer successfully defended her doctorate as an alumna of the department's own ICEUS study programme and academic coordinator of the FGCSS deserves special recognition and points to the special career path in applied research from university studies to doctoral studies. We warmly congratulate Norina on this great success and wish her every success and all the best for her future professional appointments.
