"Computer science everywhere" describes the importance of computer science very well. Computer science solutions can be found in almost all areas of everyday life. From the further development of everyday objects to new branches of industry, computer science is often the driving force and exciting questions can be worked on in this field for decades to come.
In addition to general and practical Bachelor's and Master's programmes in applied computer science, the department's professors and employees also offer opportunities for more advanced studies in the fields of digital media, embedded systems, e-health, internet engineering, digital media, software development and business informatics, thanks in part to its exceptionally good spatial and technical resources.
For over 30 years, the department of Applied Computer Science, with its constantly updated study programmes and innovative research projects, has ensured that its graduates can be extraordinarily successful in many areas of business and society.

The laboratory landscape of the Department of Applied Computer Sciences at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is characterised by its modern and professional resources. From embedded systems and Linux environments to the creative makerspace and specialised software and business informatics laboratories, it offers all the important technology areas for modern IT training. Through intensive supervision and projects related to practice, students can use and deepen their theoretical knowledge and thus lay the basics for their future IT career.

We are the student association council (FSR) for applied computer science and represent all students in our department. Our members come from different semesters and computer science degree programmes, so we understand your concerns and can represent them to professors, university committees and the Presidential Board Office.
By students - for students! As the link between you and the university, we don't just want to fill your time at university with lectures and examinations, we want to make it as varied as possible. That's why we regularly organise cool events: from pub crawls for new students to field trips such as to Gamescom and our legendary LAN parties (for example the "Prometheus LAN" in Hall 8). We also have a great stand at the university festivals every year. This gives you the chance to meet new people, network and help shape everyday university life.
We are always happy to welcome new faces who would like to get actively involved - be it in the organisation of courses, in university policy or simply to take a look behind the scenes. Our meetings take place every Wednesday at 13:45. You can find out the exact location on our Discord server, where you can also contact us at any time if you have any questions or problems.
