The association Freunde des Fachbereichs Angewandte Informatik der Fulda University of Applied Sciences e. V. - FAI e. V. for short - sees itself as a link between practice and the university. Its members include alumni, students and professors of the department as well as numerous institutions and enterprises.

- Utilising the experience potential of alumni to revitalise and improve research and teaching in the department

Fulda Computer Science Bachelor's Programme
In collaboration with the department, FAI e. V. organises the annual Fulda Computer Science Bachelor. Current topics in computer science are addressed and networking between alumni, representatives of regional and national enterprises and members of the university is facilitated. The Fulda Computer Science Colloquium thus supports the exchange of knowledge in current specialist fields of computer science.
