After your enrolment, you will receive your fd number and initial password by e-mail. Change the initial password as soon as possible and follow the instructions provided.

The fd number is the user ID for all central university services. You can use the number to ...
- read and write emails to your university email address
- log into the university organisation system Horstl
- register on the moodle learning platform
- log in to the university and department network
- log in to the university WLAN
Together with your enrolment documents you will receive an e-mail address, usually vorname.nachname@informatik.hs-fulda.de. With your fd number you can access your e-mails via webmail.hs-fulda.de.
Don't worry if it doesn't work straight away: it can take up to two weeks after receiving the letter for the e-mail address to be activated. If you have any problems, please contact the computer centre by email at support(at)rz.hs-fulda.de.
You will receive all binding information from the university and the department at this email address. Please check it regularly! Your communication with the members of the department will also take place exclusively via this e-mail address.
Log in to Horstl via horstl.hs-fulda.de. You can access Horstl using your fd number. In Horstl you can, among other things ...
- take your modules (timetable)
- register for examinations
- view your study progress
- create certificates
- update your personal data
- re-register for your studies

In den Stundenplan einwählen
Bitte wähle Dich bis spätestens zum 19. März 2026, 12.00 Uhr in horstl in die Module Deines Studiengangs ein.
Danach erfolgt die Verteilung der Module zu Deinem persönlichen Stundenplan.Den Stundenplan kannst Du Ende März in horstl einsehen.
Am dem 30. März 2026 startet das Windhundverfahren, am dem Du Dich noch in die Module eintragen kannst.

Profile and dates
Course view
After enrolment, you will receive a request (by e-mail) together with your enrolment documents to upload a photo for your chip card. Only after you have uploaded the photo will your chip card be created and sent to you by post. You can find further information online at hs-fulda.de/chipkarte
The chip card is both a student ID card and a semester ticket. It also serves as a library card, contactless payment card in the cafeteria and photocopying card.
The library account is automatically set up for you as a student at the university. Before using it for the first time, set a password (the e-mail will automatically be sent to your university e-mail address!) You will find your personal ID number on the back of the chip card.
Instructions for setting up online access can be found in your enrolment documents and online at hs-fulda.de/hlb > Service > Lending > Library card > for students of HS Fulda.
