Dear departmental stakeholders,

The year 2021 was no less challenging than 2020, with tried and tested agility and resilience, as well as working from a home office, finding their way into our new normal. The Department of Business looks back at an online and face-to-face semester.

Various online formats and aspects of digitalisation at universities were optimised and further developed. Especially in the last year, face-to-face and online teaching formats mixed, eventually introducing hybrid concepts.

This annual report reports this time in German and English.

We hope you enjoy reading it and gain exciting insights into our department.

Dear interested faculty members,

The year 2020 was a year of great challenges, innovations and upheavals for all of us. Even those who were fortunate enough to remain healthy had to adapt their lives and ways of working, in many cases completely change.

For the Department of Economics, this meant above all the conversion of all courses to online formats. In the course of this and the work in the home office, a great many processes were digitalised. The many years of discussions and preparations for digitisation at universities were leapfrogged by the new reality.

Within a few weeks, the teaching formats were changed and the didactics adapted. The much deeper anchoring of digitalisation topics in the teaching content, which we have implemented in the current rounds of revisions of our degree programmes to reflect and support the change in the economy, is more long-term in nature. We have also achieved a great deal in the home office at the Department of Business.

This annual report, which is being published for the first time this year, is intended to report on this.

We hope you enjoy reading it and that you gain exciting insights into our department.
