in the Winter Semester 2026

19 Mar 2026

In the winter semester 2026, the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Faculty of Business awarded three scholarships of €500 each. The funding supports students who are completing or planning to complete a semester or internship abroad. The award ceremony took place on February 4, 2026, at Hochschule Fulda. The scholarships were awarded to Alexia Alcala, Noah Heil, and Marco Maurer, who distinguished themselves through their strong commitment, international orientation, and diverse activities both within and beyond their academic studies.

Alexia Alcala studies International Business and Management at Hochschule Fulda and will spend the summer semester 2026 abroad at Shenzhen Technology University in China. Her main objective is to experience a new culture firsthand and to gain insight into local economic and social structures. In addition to her studies, she is actively involved in volunteer work: she co-leads the marketing team of the university’s UNICEF student group and founded “Impacta Alliance,” a free online English course for high school students in Peru, which she supports both organizationally and academically. The scholarship helps finance her stay abroad.

Noah Heil also studies International Business and Management at Hochschule Fulda and is engaged in a wide range of activities within and beyond the university. He played an active role in establishing the Formula Student team “RhönRacing” and serves as an elected member of the Student Parliament, the Senate, and the University Commission for Studies and Teaching. Outside the university, he takes on responsibility in his hometown sports club, TV Flieden. Through internships in the fields of taxation, auditing, and assurance, he has already gained valuable practical experience. His planned semester abroad at a university in Australia with a focus on finance will further strengthen his academic profile.

Marco Maurer is currently completing a semester abroad at Beijing Foreign Studies University in Beijing as part of his dual study program in Logistics Management. His particular interest lies in international economic relations and their interaction with cultural and political frameworks. Previously, he participated in international programs in Mexico and Finland and shared his experiences in reports for Hochschule Fulda. In addition, he volunteers as a lifeguard and surf instructor for children and young people. The scholarship contributes to reducing the financial burden of his stay abroad.

We warmly congratulate Alexia Alcala, Noah Heil, and Marco Maurer on receiving their scholarships. We wish them continued success in their academic journeys and many enriching international experiences ahead.
