As part of the MBA lecture series "New Perspectives" on Wednesday, 18.05.2022, the speakers Mr Mischa Krewer, Founder and Managing Director of 43einhalb and Mr René Giese Co-Founder and Managing Director, CellCore and MotionLab Academy, Berlin entered into dialogue.

The hybrid dialogue event on the topic "With best practice to start-up success - what makes for successful start-ups?" in cooperation with the Fulda Centre for Business Management and Start-ups (FUU), took up current topics from the areas of start-ups and business management. Mr. Mischa Krewer, founder of 43einhalb, a sneaker shop in Fulda, reported in his impulse lecture "Bearded men with a shoe tic - how 43einhalb from the province conquered the sneaker market" from the beginnings as a web blogger about sneakers to the founding of the company with his partner Oliver Baumgart. The founding idea arose from their personal passion for trainers. "Our speciality at 43einhalb is not that we want to sell shoes that are available everywhere on every corner, but for example retro models that were around in the 70s or 80s. There are great stories about these shoes. That was our claim, which distinguishes us from the big companies. We can implement the storytelling at this point with love and passion," says Krewer. "It was important to Olli and me that we are the guys where people notice a tangible emotion to the products and the stuff we sell."

Mr René Giese, co-founder of the 3D printing engineering company CellCore GmbH and of a spin-off in the EdTech sector that emerged from it, MotionLab.Academy GmbH, then gave a talk. In 2020, the two companies merged to form MotionLab.Berlin. In his keynote speech "Agile product development in practice #hardtechinnovation", Mr Giese followed on from the previous speech and led into the "change of perspective from the online world to the hardware world". "Everything we see and everything that exists, every object is hardware. For example, a mobile phone is hardware, camera technology is hardware, etc. So hardware is important for every industry," Giese explains. "We founded ourselves out of our vision to do or enable hardware development." To this end, his company in Berlin offers a global ecosystem by providing easy access to locations, knowledge, networks and capital.
