Colloquium "Researching Human Rights & Social Justice

On the one-day event, the doctoral students will discuss their research projects in dialogue with professors and lecturers of Fulda University. The focus will be on the first empirical insights, conceptual considerations, and methodological challenges while researching human rights and social justice. This includes presenting preliminary findings (from ethnographic field work), introducing methodological approaches and next steps in the research process, as well as presenting epistemological considerations for the systematization of empirical material.

A set of questions that will be addressed in the colloquium include:

• What are the methodological challenges of researching human rights and social justice?
• How do we research human rights and social justices across disciplines?
• What are common concerns, shared questions, or limitations?
• What empirical material is taken into consideration for researching human rights and social justice?
• In which way do we consider our research as applied, public, or engaged?
