DAAD scholarships for doctoral students

The HAW.International funding line of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers individual scholarships to doctoral candidates from German universities of applied sciences for active participation - in attendance or online - in international scientific conferences, congresses and trade fairs.

Funding benefits include, among others, travel and accommodation allowances (for attendance), reimbursement of participation fees (for congresses), trade visitor tickets (for trade fairs), membership fees (max. 1 year) and the abstract fee (max. 1 abstract).

Funding requirements:

• Eligible for funding are doctoral candidates (in independent or cooperative doctoral programmes) from German universities whose place of residence is in Germany.
• Active participation is defined as the presentation of a paper or poster, or the main responsibility for the conception and chairing of a panel.
• Holders of scholarships that include funding for congress and trade fair travel are not eligible for funding.

Applications are possible at any time. The following application documents must be submitted no later than 4 months (120 days) before the start of the event: Application Questionnaire, Curriculum Vitae, Abstract and most recent academic transcript.
