Reading Circle on Bruno Latour's "Battle for Gaia

19 Jul 2022

This reading circle is intended to be a low-threshold meeting for interested people to work together on Bruno Latour's political and sociological theory of knowledge in "Kampf um Gaia. Eight Lectures on the New Climate Regime" (2017) in close-reading sessions.

Although the four meetings will only take place online, the late hour of the sessions will hopefully contribute to a festive mood to stimulate the discussions. No prior knowledge of Latour's work is required, which is why we have opted for the 'little text but lots of discussion' format, on the one hand to make it easier to get started and, on the other, to give connoisseurs the opportunity to address questions of detail. However, a carefully prepared reading would be highly recommended. Listeners who do not wish to take part in the discussion are also welcome, as are people who only have time for one or two meetings or who feel like it.

Dates: 16 August, 30 August, 13 September, 27 September at 20:00 each.

Where: via Webex
