Research in the Social Sciences PhD Centre

The Fulda Graduate Centre of Social Sciences combines research on socially relevant issues with an international and interdisciplinary education. The transfer between science and practice plays a special role.

It was established on 1 January 2017 and is the first social science doctoral centre at a German university.

Research focus

Our doctoral students research socially relevant issues from the closely interwoven subject areas:

The projects can focus on the core area of a field as well as on cross-sectional topics.

The doctoral researchers work intensively together in the doctoral centre. Individual projects are further developed together in supervised research workshops, peer consultations and reading circles.
