Friends

The Friends want to contribute to the creation of a centre for innovation and cooperation in the future technologies of Information, Communication and Automation Technology as well as Engineering and Management and Renewable Energies in Fulda. This is to be achieved by

• the support and funding of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Fulda University of Applied Sciences by enterprises, institutions, former students and other individuals;
• the exchange of opinions and experience between enterprises in the region and the university on technology, engineering and market trends, funding programmes, research projects and their results;
• the organisation and implementation of specialist conferences, lecture series and further training courses.

2 For what purpose will my data be processed?
The personal data of members provided in the declaration of membership, in particular name, address and bank details, are collected by the association on the basis of legal entitlement. Your personal data will be treated confidentially and processed exclusively for the purpose of the administration and organisation of your membership and contributions to the Friends, as well as in the context of event management for the management of participant and waiting lists, the sending of invitation, confirmation, reminder and information emails or letters and the internal evaluation of the Friends' courses. Occasionally, the data provided may also be used to compile statistics for internal quality management purposes. However, these statistics can no longer be linked to you personally.

3. on what legal basis is my data processed?
For the Friends, the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR for the fulfilment of the association's statutes.

4 Who receives my data?
The data will only be passed on to third parties if necessary in the context of event management in the case of cooperation as specified above. After the course has been completed, the data will be deleted from the third parties immediately.

5 How long will my data be stored?
Your personal data will be stored by the Friends for the duration of your membership unless it must be retained beyond the end of your membership in accordance with tax law requirements.

6 What data protection rights do I have?
Data protection law grants you the following rights: the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR) and the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

7. do I have to provide or update my data?
The provision and updating of your personal data is required for membership of the Friends. If you do not provide the required information, it will not be possible to become a member of the Friends.
