- The basic internship should be completed before the start of university studies or within the university holidays.
- The basic internship must be completed by the beginning of the 4th semester, as successful completion of the basic internship is a condition for admission to the module examinations from the 4th semester onwards.
- Please submit the application for recognition of the basic internship online via the moodle course "Application for basic internship" .
- Please submit the following documents:
- Internship certificate from the enterprise (with company stamp and signature)

- The certificate should show: The internship period and the activities during the internship (bullet points are sufficient)

Practical placements
The Bachelor's programme in Food Technology includes a practical placements to be completed in the seventh semester. It comprises a consecutive period of at least 13 weeks at a placement provider. The practical placements are generally completed in an enterprise in the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry or a related field and supervised by a professor from the Department of Food Technology. Students apply to a suitable enterprise in the course of the previous semester (usually in the 6th semester) and propose a professor to supervise them.
Before the start of the practical placements, students conclude a written internship contract with the internship position. The internship contract must be submitted to the department (to Saskia Kuchenbäcker). The contents of the internship contract are regulated in the examination regulations. If required, a corresponding form can be used. For admission to the practical placements, at least 150 credits from the Bachelor's programme in Food Technology or Food Engineering and Management and the basic internship must have been completed. Students register for the practical placements in the horstl portal. The registration period will be announced in moodle in good time.
Students apply for recognition of the practical placements by submitting a certificate from the enterprise (original to Saskia Kuchenbäcker) confirming the successful completion of the practical placement and a brief description (submitted by email) of the internship position. The certificate can also be sent by post (address: Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Department of Food Technology, Saskia Kuchenbäcker, Leipziger Straße 123, 36037 Fulda). Both documents (certificate and short description) can be downloaded from moodle course. If the practical placements are recognised by the Examination Board, 20 credits will be awarded for the overall performance. There is no grading.

Ansprechpartner Prüfungsausschuss

Prof. Dr. Tobias Niebling Examination Board Chairman
The Examination Board is responsible for all student matters relating to examination law. It is therefore also the task of the Examination Board to decide on special study situations. This includes the following areas in particular:
Compensation for disadvantages
Special admission to lab practicals/examinations
Replacement of a compulsory elective module with a module from a related study programme (Master's only)
Please send your applications to the Examination Board (lebensmitteltechnologie.pruefungsausschuss(at)hs-fulda.de) by the deadline.
The date for the next meeting of the Examination Board will be announced in good time here and in the timetable.
You submit your applications digitally in the form of a single PDF file. You can find the forms in moodle. Please make sure that the applications are complete, the pages are aligned in the same direction and the PDF files are labelled with your surname.
Compensation for disadvantages can be claimed by students if they have a chronic illness or a disability and are therefore unable to complete the examination performance in the prescribed form and/or duration, or can only complete it in part. The examination performance is then adapted by using technical aids, a different type of examination or a longer processing time (see Section 21 (1) ABPO). Neither the content nor the level of difficulty of the social services: benefits are changed by compensation for disadvantages, only the framework conditions are modified in such a way that equal participation is made possible as far as possible.
Submit the application for compensation for disadvantages for the winter semester by 1 December and for the summer semester by 1 June. Retroactive application for compensation for disadvantages after an examination is excluded. If you need assistance with your application, please contact Corinna Steinebronn. Otherwise, the application must be submitted in full with suitable evidence to Prof Dr Tobias Niebling, who will decide on the application. If compensation for disadvantages is granted, please inform the examination coordinator and the relevant instructors independently. Any compensation for disadvantages granted does not replace registration for the examination, which must be done in any case in addition.
To ensure that the evidence fulfils the necessary requirements, you can submit the information sheet to your doctor for assistance.
