Anonymity and data protection

As a scientific institution, we take questions of anonymity and data protection very seriously:

  • Completion of the questionnaire is voluntary and without prejudice.
  • All information is treated confidentially. Once completed, the survey cannot be attributed to you personally. Therefore, we ask you not to give your name anywhere in the questionnaire.
  • None of the information you provide will be passed on to third parties or institutions. The data will only be evaluated by academically qualified employees of Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
  • You can interrupt the completion of the questionnaire and continue at a later time. However, the data will only be stored for one day and will then be lost. The prerequisite for this is that you continue answering the questionnaire on the same computer.
  • The data is transferred via an encrypted connection by using the secure encryption protocol "https", which has been tried and tested in internet banking. In this process, all data exchanged between the browser and the server via the Internet is broken down into indecipherable character strings. This makes it technically impossible for third parties to understand the communication between browser and server.

 

The online study is implemented with the help of the software "Unipark", a specific online research tool developed for the higher education sector by the company QuestBack (www.unipark.info). The web server of Unipark.de is located in Germany and operated by Globalpark AG. The QuestBack server park is reliably protected from external access. The BSI-certified data centre is subject to extremely high data protection and security requirements according to ISO 27001 based on IT-Grundschutz. This standard is also used by government bodies in the Federal Republic. A prerequisite for the award of the certificate is an audit by an ISO 27001 basic protection auditor certified by the BSI (Federal Office for Information Security). The website Unipark.de has its own web server, which does not run any other websites. Unipark works with EFS Survey. EFS Survey is based on MySQL, PHP, Apache and Linux and is hosted in a TÜV-certified data centre (internet connection up to 155 Mbit, redundant power supply, 24h guard protection). This ensures a high level of security for the data stored via "Unipark".
