After my training as a registered health and nursing assistant and a short period of professional work in inpatient, intensive care nursing, I studied nursing management at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and successfully completed it in the summer of 2013.
Parallel to the bachelor's degree, I first worked for a year at Fulda University of Applied Sciences as a tutor for the nursing degree programme and, among other things, taught the students nursing theory, demonstrated nursing actions, helped with the creation of nursing action plans and supported the students with transfer achievements, exam preparations and simulation exercises. Subsequently, in 2012, I took up work as a health care and nursing assistant in a specialist internal medicine practice in order to deepen my knowledge in outpatient health care.
Since September 2013, I have been working as a research assistant in the EmoRobot project, which deals with emotion-stimulating assistant robots in the care and support of people with dementia in inpatient long-term care. At the same time, I have been studying Public Health at Fulda University of Applied Sciences since October 2013 and am working towards a Master of Science degree.
I recommend the nursing management studies at Fulda University of Applied Sciences because it has given me the opportunity to develop new perspectives both on the nursing profession and on management and personnel structures. The study programme promotes teamwork and discussion skills as well as the development of creative solution strategies due to project and team work. In addition, I have acquired theoretical skills as well as skills regarding qualitative and quantitative research and, through my participation in the EmoRobot project, I am given the opportunity to establish an active practical transfer to these theoretical references. This promotes the critical examination of research-relevant questions. The study programme also enables me to gain up-to-date knowledge about health policy and health care.
