At a time when our society is faced with a variety of challenges, there are few tasks of greater importance than saving human lives. Every year, around 70,000 people in Germany suffer a circulatory arrest outside of hospital; their survival rate is 6-10%. The dramatic fact is that the lay resuscitation rate is only 51.3 %. Immediate action can double the chances of survival and at the same time minimise consequential damage. The aim must therefore be to increase the willingness of the population to take resuscitation measures. To this end, the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs has been calling for the nationwide implementation of resuscitation lessons of 90 minutes per year from Year 7 onwards since 2014. This has not yet been implemented across the board in Hesse.
Our focus is on the development of situation- and reality-based resuscitation training programmes aimed at various target groups in the education sector. Through our work, we aim to emphasise socially relevant responsibility and raise awareness of resuscitation measures in a sustainable manner. Our approach comprises the organisation of training courses at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences as well as school training courses for pupils and teachers at schools in Hesse. We place particular emphasis on teaching related to practice and funding action-orientated learning. In addition, we qualify our student teachers to become competent multipliers for precisely this individualised resuscitation training. Through this holistic and guideline-compliant approach, we contribute to anchoring life-saving skills in the Hessian educational landscape. Teach LiSa is thus actively committed to the safety and well-being of society by combining education and resuscitation in an innovative way.
Teach LiSa is a pioneering project of the study programmes Vocational Education in Health and Nursing. Our team passes highly motivated instructors and dedicated students working together towards our vision of procuring a safe and better prepared society. The diversity of our members is characterised by different competences and backgrounds. Our team includes particularly experienced and specially trained individuals from preclinical and in-hospital emergency management. Their expertise forms the foundation for training related to practice, which not only imparts theoretical knowledge but also crucial practical skills. We are not just about teaching, but about creating an inspiring community based on respect, collaboration and a safe space. We look forward to shaping the future of healthcare education and saving lives together.
Teach LiSa relies exclusively on the commitment of our students and instructors. In order to pursue our ideas and visions, we need personnel, material and financial support. If you would like to support us and our work, please contact us. We would be very pleased.
Our training programmes are carefully adapted to the latest guidelines and recommendations of the GRC and ERC. We appreciate the constructive collaboration with the GRC Course Centre Fulda and would like to express our sincere thanks.
