27 students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences receive Deutschlandstipendium thanks to regional support

25 regional partners are supporting outstanding students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences this year: a total of 27 talented and committed students have been awarded a Deutschlandstipendium for the funding period from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. The selection failed in favour of students who have demonstrated both high academic achievements and social commitment.

For the scholarship holders, this means 300 euros per month over the course of a year - half of which is funded by private sponsors and half by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Thanks to the dedicated support of regional partners and a successful crowdfunding campaign by the "Freunde und Förderer der Fulda University of Applied Sciences" (Friends and Sponsors of Fulda University of Applied Sciences) association, the number of scholarships was increased by three to 27 compared to the previous year.

An initial meeting between sponsors and scholarship holders took place during the open day at the degree ceremony of the university's anniversary year in the "Deutschlandstipendium Lounge". The official award ceremony now provided an opportunity for all those involved to engage in more in-depth dialogue and establish personal networks. "The support of our sponsors is of great importance so that talented students can develop their potential during their university studies and beyond," explained University President Prof Dr Karim Khakzar, adding: "The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship gives our students the freedom to focus on their training and benefit from the region's network."

Public Health student Larissa Nees expressed her thanks on behalf of all scholarship holders and emphasised the importance of this support: "The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship strengthens our backs so that we can continue our education without restrictions and make a real contribution to society. Thanks to the support, we can go our own way with courage and confidence."

The long-standing support from the Peter Romeis Foundation in particular shows the added value that the Deutschlandstipendium has for everyone involved. Managing Director Ingrid Schmittnägel describes the joint commitment as a "win-win situation" that enriches students and sponsors alike.

Last year, around 31,400 students across Germany were supported by the Deutschlandstipendium - made possible by the commitment of over 9,500 sponsors who supported the program with a total of around 33 million euros. Since 2011, the Deutschlandstipendium has been opening up new opportunities for motivated students and strengthening their future prospects.
