30 Oct 2024
105 graduates of the Faculty of Health Sciences were given a festive send-off. A total of 320 guests attended the event, including the graduates and their families, professors and staff. In Hall 8 of the university, the Dean of Studies, Prof. Margit Christiansen, opened the first part of the event with congratulations and noted that an important step had been taken in the academisation of the healthcare professions. This year, the first academically qualified midwives and nurses passed the state examination on the basis of statutory regulations. The Vice President for Teaching, Studies and Digitalisation at the university, Prof. Kreiker, emphasised the importance of training in the healthcare sector, as the latest surveys also highlight the shortage of specialists in the healthcare sector. The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Stefan Greß, praised the achievements of the graduates and noted that they are equipped with comprehensive skills for their future working lives. Guest speaker Jonas Ehmig, a graduate of the Health Economics and Policy degree programme in 2019 , shed light on health policy developments from his current perspective as managing director of medical care centres. He also shared his experiences with the graduates and encouraged them to be courageous. The celebrations were accompanied by Xhavier Franssen on the guitar. Before the heads of the degree programmes had the opportunity to honour their graduates in a smaller circle in the second part of the event and to say goodbye to the university with a commemorative gift, a champagne reception was held to toast their success!
