International midwifery
30 Oct 2024
After a warm welcome by Lene Kjærgård-Jensen and Merete Lausten Hansen, we were able to gain valuable insights into the academic training of midwives in Denmark and the study programme on site in Esbjerg in an exchange with our Danish colleagues. We were pleased to present the B.Sc. midwifery study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and are now looking forward to developing the first international cooperation projects in teaching for our students in Esbjerg and Fulda / Marburg.

This was followed by a visit to King's College London, where we were welcomed by Mary Sheridan and Sam Bassett. Here, too, we were able to take away valuable impulses through mutual reports from teaching and research (including from Claire Feeley) and the detailed management of the Skills Labs. Fortunately, a visit to the practice at King's College Hospital also offered the opportunity to exchange ideas with local students. Another highlight of our time in London was the management of the small obstetric museum of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). We look forward to further developing our international relationships in the midwifery study programme.
