Young bone researchers at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences

How many cervical vertebrae does a giraffe have compared to a human? And can bones heal? These and many other questions were explored by 47 children on Wednesday afternoon as part of the children's university at Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

 

Fulda, 6 March 2025 - The department of health science invited the young "students" on an exciting journey of discovery through the human body under the title "Become a bone researcher: the human skeleton". They assembled a human skeleton from many individual parts, analysed X-ray images and even made their own vertebral body prosthesis from modelling clay.

The presentation was supported by materials from the Didactic Workshop Health and gave the children a playful access to academic topics. Fulda University of Applied Sciences is delighted to be able to inspire young people to take an interest in research and health sciences at an early age with the children's university.
