Milestone in midwifery training
15 May 2024
Fulda University of Applied Sciences is pleased to announce the successful graduation of 30 newly qualified and academised midwives. These graduates are the first to emerge from the midwifery programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences under the new Midwifery Act.
The students began their university studies in the winter semester of 2020 under exceptional circumstances as the world was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, they did their best and distinguished themselves through their determination and diligence. In addition, they also adapted to the new environment as the Fulda University of Applied Sciences moved to the new health sciences building during their studies. Since the beginning of 2022, the students have been learning their practical competences in the new skills and simulation labs. We are extremely proud of the performance and commitment of our graduates. This degree not only marks the students' personal success, but also a significant milestone for midwifery education at our university.
The graduates now have the opportunity to apply their expertise and skills in various areas of direct care for pregnant women, women in labour, new mothers, newborns and their families and to contribute positively to society. Fulda University of Applied Sciences wishes them all the best for their future and is confident that as qualified professionals they will make a significant difference to the health care of families.
