Das Promotionskolleg „Gesundheit und Ernährung“ ist ein Teilvorhaben des Projekts ProGEPP (Programm zur Gewinnung und Entwicklung von Professoralem Personal) und wird gefördert aus Mitteln des Bund-Länder-Programms FH-Personal.
Übergeordnetes Ziel des interdisziplinären Promotionskollegs ist die Förderung und Begleitung von Promotionsvorhaben in gesundheits- und ernährungsbezogenen, insbesondere neu akademisierten und HAW-spezifischen Fachrichtungen.
Das Kolleg begleitet die Promovierenden von der Einarbeitung bis zum Abschluss ihrer Promotion und unterstützt den Promotionsprozess mit bedarfsadäquaten Weiterbildungs- und Qualifizierungsangeboten. Gemäß den Zielen des Projekts ProGEPP sollen die Promovierenden hierdurch insbesondere die Möglichkeit erhalten, sich für eine spätere HAW-Professur zu qualifizieren.
The doctoral college "Health and Nutrition" is a joint institution of the departments of Health Sciences and Oecotrophology. It is organisationally affiliated with the Scientific Centre for Nutrition, Food and Sustainable Supply Systems (ELVe) and the Public Health Centre Fulda (PHZF).

Furthermore, it is possible to do a doctorate at a cooperative university within the framework of a cooperative doctorate.
