doctoral project
Health literacy in hospitals: A mixed-methods analysis of organisational and individual influencing factors. A multi-perspective analysis of structural framework conditions and profession-specific needs in inpatient care.
Topic/content
The dissertation examines health literacy in hospitals from two perspectives: the organisational ( HLH ) and the individual (HLH) of nurses and doctors. The aim is to record the current status of OGK and iGK as well as to analyse structural conditions, barriers and sponsoring factors in inpatient care.
A mixed-methods design will be used for this: a quantitative online survey in hospitals as well as qualitative focus group and individual interviews. It is expected that there will be clear differences between professional groups and hierarchical levels - for example, a greater need for support among nursing staff and more autonomy among doctors. In the long term, the work should provide practice-oriented recommendations for the development of health-competent organisations and thus contribute to improving working conditions and the quality of care.
