Successful defences

Stefan Kästner (left) successfully remunerated his dissertation entitled "Quality-oriented remuneration of digital health applications" on 5 December 2025. In his mixed-methods study, he studied the possibilities of implementing pay-for-performance in the healthcare context of digital health applications. The supervision of the dissertation was carried out by Prof Dr Stefan Greß from the Department of Health Sciences at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and Prof Dr Melanie Schnee from Furtwangen University. Nadine Lutz (right) also successfully defended her dissertation on 29 October 2025. Her doctoral degree "Student*in sein als berufsbiografische Entwicklungsaufgabe" is dedicated to the professionalisation process of students becoming teachers in nursing practice; in her research, she reconstructed the motives and requirements of this transition. The doctoral degree was supervised by Prof. Dr Silke Trumpa from the Department of Health Sciences at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and Prof. Dr Armin Leibig from the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.
