Butterflies in the stomach, floating on cloud nine, experiencing exciting feelings. First love can be wonderful. However, during first experiences in love relationships or dating, in addition to the beautiful, romantic and exciting moments, difficult, border-crossing or violent situations can occur (Teen Dating Violence). This is not a rare phenomenon in Germany either (cf. Blättner et al. 2014, 2015; TeDaVi). Prevention is necessary and feasible. The frequency and intensity of the use of digital media speaks in favour of using such media as a supplement for prevention.

In student projects, a digital image campaign and the homepage www.was-geht-zu-weit.de were developed with different media elements. These media elements are presented in an exhibition for young people, which can be visited by school classes in particular.

In four rooms (Listen, Look, Smart and Participate), young people's life contexts are addressed, the youth bed invites you to watch the trick box film, from the youth desk you can click through the homepage and approach the topic via a comic, in the sofa corner you can listen to the audio podcast and in the photo studio you can participate in the image campaign.

Teachers have the opportunity to reflect on and discuss the theme with their pupils in the exhibition space. A pedagogical concept is available that can be used for preparation and follow-up.

In the next step, the exhibition will be transformed into a travelling exhibition.

Visitors were able to express their opinions and experiences during the exhibition via a praise and criticism box, on site. The exhibition met with a very positive response and was particularly well visited by school classes from local schools.

The classes and youth groups found the exhibition interesting, varied, informative, up-to-date and student-oriented; the presentation of the topic as well as the structure and design of the four different youth rooms were often praised. It was also seen as positive that problems that had been kept secret were publicly addressed through the exhibition.

Have we aroused your interest? It is possible to rent the travelling exhibition for a limited time and set it up in your own premises. Please contact Elisabeth Hintz.
