The son is stuck in front of the computer, the daughter wants to make a date for a stroll through town, it took longer at the office again and the noodles are boiling over on the cooker because the phone rings in between. Even if parents plan everything carefully, in the end there is often too little time for lunch together, meetings with friends, outings or a cosy evening watching TV.
Of all things, the time-eater Internet is supposed to help here? Even though digital media such as computers, smartphones, etc. are considered risk factors in prevention research because they support physical inactivity and disrupt health-promoting communication structures, they are nevertheless an indispensable part of most families.
FamTIME, a digital family manager, aims to use precisely this interest of children, young people and their parents in the use of new information technologies to reduce health risks, strengthen health resources and develop family cohesion.
The idea for FamTIME was awarded the AOK-Leonardo Förderpreis, the health prize for digital prevention.
