Duration: since August 2015

With the entry into force of the 'Act to Strengthen Health Promotion and Prevention (Prevention Act - PrävG)' in 2015, long-term care insurance funds have been mandated to provide prevention services in inpatient long-term care facilities for those insured under the social long-term care insurance scheme. In cooperation, long-term care insurance funds are to develop proposals for improving the health situation and strengthening health resources and abilities with the participation of the insured persons in need of long-term care and long-term care facilities, and support their implementation (§ 5 paragraph 1 SGB XI). The services of the long-term care insurance funds refer to a participatory organisational development process and are to be distinguished from the services of the long-term care facilities, especially from activating care. The umbrella organisation of the long-term care insurance funds must define criteria for such services with the involvement of an independent expert. This was done in August 2016 with the 'Guideline Prevention in Inpatient Care Facilities', which was updated in 2018. GKV Spitzenverband 2018.

The project is primarily concerned with reviewing the evidence of the proposed measures for the individual fields of action and with providing scientific support for their implementation.

Prof. Dr. Blättner has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the project QualiPEP - "Quality-oriented prevention and health promotion in institutions of integration assistance and care" since 2018. QualiPEP is a research project of the AOK-Bundesverband, funded by the BMG. The aim is to develop, pilot and implement a quality framework for prevention and health promotion measures in care facilities and facilities for integration assistance. As part of QualiPEP, a target group survey was conducted in the fourth quarter of 2018.
