Since 01.06.2024, there has been an Information Security Office at the university, in the department of the Vice President for Digitalisation.
The Information Security Officer (ISO) at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the information security strategy. Their tasks include the creation and maintenance of security guidelines and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. The ISB carries out regular risk assessments, identifies potential security gaps and develops measures to minimise risks.
It sensitises employees to security issues through training and campaigns. The ISB also coordinates the response to security incidents, analyses them and takes appropriate countermeasures. Another key task is to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal guidelines. The ISB works closely with the data centre, the Vice President for Digitalisation and other relevant departments to establish and maintain a comprehensive information security management system (ISMS). By continuously monitoring and improving security measures, the position of ISB contributes significantly to the organisation's resilience to cyber threats.
