Recognition of achievements

The path from learning agreement to recognition

It is possible to complete a period abroad without losing time from your regular university studies. Here you can find out how to have your achievements abroad recognised:

Before the period abroad

Firstly, look for suitable courses on the website of your host university (tip: check in which language of instruction they are offered). The international coordinators in your department will then help you: using the module descriptions of the selected courses, they will work with you to draw up the Learning Agreement, which is first signed by you, the department and then by the university abroad. You upload the pdf of the Learning Agreement in your workflow in Mobility Online.

During the stay abroad

If you realise during the period of study abroad that selected courses are not offered or overlap in time, you can adjust the agreement in the Learning Agreement within 5 weeks of starting the period of study abroad. For Online Learning Agreements (Erasmus), this is done via the website www.learning-agreement.eu . For all other programs in word.doc or pdf under During the Mobility. In this case, please contact the coordinator for international affairs in your department in good time. Changes to the Learning Agreement will be signed by you and the host and home universities.

Recognition after the period abroad

After your period abroad, submit the completed and signed application for recognition together with the Learning Agreement and the Transcript of Records from the foreign university digitally via your workflow in Mobility Online. The entries in the recognition form must correspond to the modules previously recorded in the Learning Agreement.

After uploading the documents they are automatically sent to your departmental coordinator for further processing. After processing at the department, your recognition will be forwarded to the Student Administration Office for entry in Horstl. As a rule, the social services: benefits will be entered in Horstl and the achievements will be credited to your regular university studies. If you have any questions regarding recognition and/or conversion of grades, please contact the International Coordinators.

If you are unable to reach an agreement regarding recognition, please contact the Examination Board of your department.

conversion of grades

Grades from abroad are converted on the basis of the Bavarian formula. The overview lists with the conversion of grades can be found in your workflow in Mobility Online, alternatively you can enquire at the IO or with your departmental coordinator.

Documentation/Diploma Supplement

Recognised social services: benefits from your semester abroad will be documented in an additional certificate (attachment to the transcript of records). You will receive a Diploma Supplement in German and English with the issue of your transcript of records. If you have any questions, please contact the colleagues in the Student Administration Office.
