Accommodation & Meals

Accommodation
The ISU Team is looking forward to giving you a warm welcome here in Fulda soon. In order to make your stay here as pleasant as possible, we have taken it upon ourselves to respect your wishes as much as we could. However, this is not so easy with such a large group. In the end, we had to make our own decisions about where we would be able to accommodate everybody. Our options for your accommodation in Fulda included the following: single rooms in student dormitories, shared rooms in hotels, and single rooms in the houses of some very welcoming host families.
Host Family
Should you live in either a host family or in a hotel, you will have breakfast served to you every morning. Participants living in either of these places will need to pay €80 to the ISU on the day of arrival for this breakfast service. On behalf of ourselves and the host families, we would like to remind you that smoking is prohibited in all rooms of the house. Additionally, if you are allergic to any animals, please send us a message as soon as possible so that we can make sure that you will not have to live with an animal that you are allergic to. Since the host families live slightly outside of town, we would be interested to know if you will be able to ride a bike to campus.
Residence Halls (included in course fee)
ISU also offers its students the possibility of living with other students from various nations in a simple apartment-sharing community. This is a very common form of living arrangement for German students, fostering both community spirit and independence. So it's not rare for the kitchen in apartment-sharing communities to be transformed into a recreation room and lifelong friendships to be made. Shared apartments often accommodate people of both sexes, please let us know if that’s not an option for you.
Please note that we sublease these rooms from Fulda students who are away for the summer, so personal items may still be in the room, and the furniture is owned by the students. Please respect the student’s items and furniture and let the team know if any problems occur.
Other communities
All other communities are located in different parts of Fulda. Nevertheless the fully developed bus system and the bicycle rent provides the possibility to easily access downtown Fulda and the campus of the Hochschule Fulda.
Single-room apartments (extra charge!)
If you’d rather stay at a hotel, we can arrange that for you at an extra charge. Single-room appartments are availible in some hotels in the City of Fulda.
The reservation deadline for single apartments is April 1, 2023.
For reservations please contact: ISU Team: isu@hs.fulda.de
The single room apartments are located near by Hochschule Fulda or in the city center and approximately 20 minutes walking distance from downtown Fulda / Hochschule Fulda. Downtown Fulda can also be reached by bus or by bicycle within 10 minutes. The comfortable apartments comprise a small kitchen, a bathroom and a single room. The single room consists out of a bed, a desk with a chair, a closet and a bookshelf. Bedding and towels are provided by ISU. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove and dishes.
