Traveling by Airplane

Closest airport: Frankfurt Main International Airport

Here you can find connection information from the airport to Fulda.

Do not take an ICE or IC train if you have purchased the ticket for currently €17,40 or the Hessen ticket - they are not valid on those!Make sure you don't board a train without a valid ticket - you may be charged up to € 60!

On the IWU-Arrival Day the IWU-Registration Office will be open from 8am till 2pm at the café Mea Mea on the upper level of “Fulda Hauptbahnhof”. Please check in there when you arrive (see Dates & Arrival Day).

Traveling by Train

Train connections to Fulda are excellent. You can find out your travel itinerary in the internet under www.bahn.de. Be careful to enter the right date. Train schedules change in June.

On the IWU-Arrival Day the IWU-Registration Office will be open from 8am till 2pm at “Fulda Hauptbahnhof” (= Fulda main train station). Please check in there when you arrive (see Dates and Arrival Day)

Traveling by Bus

Tour operators offering long distance bus services to Fulda include:

  • Deutsche Touring
  • Eurolines

If you travel to Fulda by bus, you will arrive in the bus terminal which is located just next to “Fulda Hauptbahnhof” (= Fulda main train station).
On the IWU-Arrival Day the IWU-Registration Office will be open from 8am till 2pm at “Fulda Hauptbahnhof”. Please check in there when you arrive (see Dates & Arrival Day).
