Fundamentals of Business Administration

Learning Objectives:

Students will gain a basic understanding of the typical business-processes that will need to be supported by E-Business-Systems. The knowledge gained in this class forms the fundamentals to be able understand the requirements on these systems.

Module content:

Fundamentals of Accounting:

  • Accounting (basic accounts, assets, double-entry accounting, annual financial statement)
  • Cost accounting (cost types, cost centers, cost objects)

Fundamentals of Logistics:

  • Material Management (Processes of Purchasing, Processes of Inventory Management)
  • Manufacturing Logistics (Production Types like repetitive Manufacturing, Order Based Manufacturing, Engineer to Order, Forecasting Processes; Terms of Manufacturing logistics like Requirement and Production Order)
  • Outbound Logistics (Picking, Warehousing, Transportation,…)
