Practical experience with Erasmus

Students who would like to gain practical experience abroad during their university studies or after their degree have the opportunity to receive organisational and financial support as well as supervision as part of the Erasmus program.

In the area of Erasmus work placements, the Regional Contact Point of the Network for Erasmus Work Placements and University-Business Cooperation is the point of contact for students and departments at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and for 10 other partner universities. The network is coordinated by Fulda University of Applied Sciences. The network's central contact point at the institute inter.research e.V. organises and administers the awarding of Erasmus grants for European mobility between universities and business.

The International Office of Fulda University of Applied Sciences is in charge of Erasmus periods of study at Erasmus partner universities.

Erasmus internships

As an interface between partner universities and enterprises, the contact point based at the Fulda University Transfer Centre advises students and can recommend proven internship companies. The contact centre offers information on the web, for example tips on finding an internship and applying, or on living and working in the internship country.

Erasmus interns in the network receive online training that trains intercultural competence and other key qualifications for professional life, as well as online language training in the working language.

The information module of the online training is particularly attractive for students who have not yet found an internship, as it offers up-to-date experience reports from former students who have completed a work placement abroad (information on enterprises, internship tasks, tips, etc.).

The contact point of the Erasmus work placement network is also the contact person for enterprises in Europe looking for internships. The contact point provides a guideline(s) for the integration of interns and can negotiate working conditions or problems with host organisations.

Self-employed in Europe

As part of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, business start-ups can plan and implement business projectsin other European countries together with a mentor. They learn from experienced entrepreneurs and utilise the European single market for their enterprise. The program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme supports their exchange financially and organisationally. For business start-ups interested in European business relations, the network OPEN-EYE.net is the contact person for the program.
