Language certificates

Language skills are an important prerequisite for studying abroad. At our partner universities worldwide (except South America), teaching is in English. In South America, the language of instruction is Spanish or Portuguese (Brazil).

For the exchange to the USA and Korea you need the TOEFL test.
You can take this test at the Language Centre of the university. Exceptions: For the exchange programme Hesse Massachusetts and for some universities in Wisconsin you need the iBT TOEFL. The test is offered by Inlingua in Fulda or other TOEFL centres.
For studies in Australia you usually need a DAAD language test. Please make an appointment with Ms. Kirschenhofer at the Language Centre.

For studying at a partner university in South America, a language certificate in Spanish or Portuguese at level B1 or B2 is usually sufficient.
