Wadah Akhlif
"I came to Germany as a refugee and have found a new home here. Through the Pre-Study Programme, I was able to improve my German language skills and gain insights into life in Germany. These experiences have opened doors for me that I previously thought were out of reach.
I now work as a social worker in a shelter for refugees and support others in their first steps in Germany and in their integration. It fills me with joy to support other people in overcoming their challenges and achieving their goals.
I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given in Germany.
During my participation in the Pre-Study Programme, I was able to take advantage of additional offers such as the Buddy Programme, where I was able to get to know German students, and a leisure programme with joint activities. We also received intercultural training and information about the German education system and the German labour market.
These comprehensive offers contributed significantly to my personal growth and integration into German society."

Sahar Alkharsa, from Syria, DSH 2, now studying ICEUS
"Fulda University of Applied Sciences offers so many opportunities and I knew that this was my chance to make my dream come true to study a Master's degree. The coordination and organisation of the classes, trying to always support and motivate the students through extra parties, movies, meetings and many other activities like the buddy programme where you can just improve your language more."

Pedram Alaei, from Iran, DSH 2, scholarship holder at Fulda University of Applied Sciences in the Pre-Study Programme, will be training as a technician/product designer in the field of mechanical engineering at EDAG.
"I decided to take part in the Pre-Study Programme to get used to the atmosphere at the university and because Fulda University of Applied Sciences also offers many other opportunities for participants in addition to the German course. For example, you have access to the university library and you have direct contact with German students through the buddy programme."
