18 Sep 2026 to 17 Oct 2026 — Whole day event

Exhibition: Unissued Diplomas

The international exhibition ‘Unissued Diplomas’ commemorates Ukrainian students who lost their lives as a result of Russia’s war of aggression. It gives a face to these young people – people with hobbies, dreams and plans for their future. Many of them wanted to complete their university studies and hold their first degree in their hands.

The ‘Unissued Diplomas’ initiative was founded in 2023 by Ukrainian students. It honours the memory of those who, due to their untimely deaths, will never receive a degree, and highlights the impact of the war on young people and the academic community. Since 2023, the exhibition has been shown in numerous countries globally, including Australia, France and Japan.

The exhibition can be viewed from Friday 18 September at the HLSB Fulda campus location. It is organised by the local E³UDRES² team. Fulda University of Applied Sciences is a member of the European university alliance E³UDRES²; whose network also includes the Ukrainian higher education institutions Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National University of Cherkasy, Cherkasy State Business College and Sumy State University as associate partners. Through this exhibition, Fulda University of Applied Sciences wishes to commemorate the students who have passed away and give space to their stories.

The exhibition will be officially opened on Tuesday, 22 September at 1.30 pm at the HLSB Fulda. The opening will feature, amongst other things, a welcome address by the president of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr Karim Khakzar, and will offer insights into the collaboration with Ukrainian universities. The exhibition can then be viewed until 17 October at the HLSB Fulda campus location.
