Description: R
R is an open source programming language that is particularly well suited for the evaluation and visualisation of data. Thanks to a large, active community, numerous packages are available, allowing a wide variety of analysis approaches to be used in R.
In the workshop, we will go through the first steps for using R on small data sets related to practice. You will receive tips on setting up your working environment, researching and choosing suitable packages as well as an introduction to important terminology. The overarching goal of the workshop is to lay the basics for your further work in R.
Specialisations
- Basics of the programming language R (installation, use of packages)
- Use for first steps in data analysis and visualisation
- Introduction to relevant concepts and terminology (e.g. project orientation)
Learning outcomes
After attending the workshop, participants will be able to
- Install R for use on their computers and set up a working environment for their data analyses.
- Perform simple data analyses in R.
- Research and install packages for specialisation analyses in R.
