Classical spring concerts on campus

FULDA For the first time, Fulda University of Applied Sciences and the PIANALE International Academy & Competition are organising a joint spring concert on the campus of Fulda University of Applied Sciences. Two PIANALE prizewinners will perform on April 23rd and 24th at 6 pm in Building 10 (SSC), Room 001: Julius Egensperger and Milda Daunoraite will tell the success stories of their beginning and ongoing careers at the concerts.

Since 2007, numerous piano talents from all over the world have presented themselves to the Fulda audience every summer at the PIANALE International Academy & Competition during the now popular PIANALE Piano Festival. Each year, only one participant out of around 30 candidates wins the coveted Audience Award. In addition, the jury prize is awarded to the best participant of the PIANALE year.

Young talents are successful nationally and internationally
Julius Egensperger from Munich was celebrated as the youngest PIANALE Audience Award winner in 2021. He is now 18 years old and is studying in his second semester at the University of Music in Hamburg. Following his PIANALE success, Julius received the WDR Classical Music Prize of the City of Münster, first prize at the MozARTE Competition of the Cologne University of Music and first prize at the Young Ludwig Competition of the Berlin University of the Arts.

Lithuanian Milda Daunoraite is now 24 years old. In 2016, at the age of 15, she won the jury prize at the PIANALE and has been one of Lithuania's most promising young pianists ever since. She has already given successful concerts in major European concert halls, including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Wigmore Hall in London and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Following her success at PIANALE, she has also been honoured with several first prizes at international piano competitions in Stockholm and Lithuania. She is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

The two talented pianists will play an exceptional program with works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin and Ginastera. Catering will be provided during the interval. Tickets, priced at 10 euros, are now available from the Fulda University of Applied Sciences shop. Tickets can only be paid for cashless. The university shop, Building 10 (SSC), is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m., with additional opening hours Monday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
