Future Weeks start on 5th May in Fulda

FULDA. How does climate change actually work? And how can I protect our planet? Can energy be used smartly? And how can I shop more sustainably at the supermarket? For a fortnight, the Climate Future Weeks will be focussing on precisely these questions. The Fulda University of Applied Sciences has organised a varied programme of activities for all ages in collaboration with the Umweltzentrum Fulda e.V., the climate protection management of the district of Fulda, the city of Fulda, the adult education centre of the district of Fulda and the Vogelsberg climate education landscape.

The Future Weeks offer interested parties insights into climate protection and climate adaptation from different perspectives in exciting presentations and interactive workshops. There are many hands-on activities as well as special programs for school classes (please note: registration is required for some courses).

From the deep sea to the forest
The program, which takes place on the campus of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, but also at other locations in the region, spans a wide range from deep-sea research - which is important for understanding climate change - to field trips to local forests. The effects of drought on trees are particularly evident there.

But topics such as climate-friendly nutrition or the sustainable use of resources through swap meets are also in the spotlight. The various organisations also address social justice in the context of climate change, and they name and explain innovative methods of renewable energy production.

During the two Future Weeks, the participating citizens will also gain insights into the climate protection management of the city and district as well as the Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
