In this ranking, the universities receive points in several areas, for example for the organisation and quality of adh educational events and for their attendance at them. The sum of these points is put in relation to the size of the university and results in the overall rating. Among universities with fewer than 15,000 students, Fulda University of Applied Sciences secured first place by a clear margin.
In addition to five attendances at adh courses, the organisation of the adh Perspectives Conference in April 2025 was particularly decisive for the top position. "The organisation and implementation of such a major event represents a challenge for the host university that should not be underestimated and can only be successfully mastered with a strong team spirit, careful planning and great personal commitment. The Fulda University of Applied Sciences has taken on this task with great commitment and thus deservedly placed itself at the top of the rankings," announced the adh.
Fulda University of Applied Sciences also performed well in the adh's organiser ranking, which assesses the organisation of the German University Championships (DHM), coming in 19th place in 2025. The basis for this was the successful organisation of the DHM in Ultimate Frisbee.
"These successes illustrate how Fulda University of Applied Sciences combines education, health, community, commitment and sports funding at a national level and positions the university as a leading player in nationwide university sports," says Maria Engler, head of division at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. This achievement was made possible by the commitment of the entire Presidential Board, the expert university sports team, many dedicated students and colleagues as well as external assistants, practical supervisors and cooperation partners.
Although the resources available for competitions, study programmes offered and other programs will be limited in the near future, University Sports Fulda wants to continue to act in an innovative, flexible and closely networked manner in order to implement its guidelines of education, health, commitment and sports funding in the best possible way.
