Kick-off at the HSP: With an apprentice for the first time
05 May 2026
On 2 February 2026, I began my time in University Sports as the first trainee. At the beginning, I was excited to see how the team would welcome me and how the division's processes would work. After just a short time, I was able to settle in well and get to know both the team and the structures.
A lot of things were new, especially at the beginning. Thanks to the support of my colleagues, I was given a comprehensive introduction - from the responsibilities to the various rooms and sports facilities. I was particularly impressed by how diverse the offers are and how carefully the organisation runs in the background.
Over the past few months, I have also been involved in various activities and courses and have been able to experience University Sports in practice - from the application of the programme to support in day-to-day operations. I was also present at the launch of the university sports programme and saw first-hand how much interest there is in the courses.
In addition to the varied tasks, I also found the insights into teamwork and planning particularly exciting. Meetings were regularly held to prepare offers and events and to coordinate within the team. Challenging tasks were also part of it - and if something didn't work out right away, I could always count on support.
After three months, my time in University Sports has now come to an end. I have gained a lot of valuable experience and am delighted that I was able to be part of the HSP as its first trainee.
