Excellent results in the categories "Support in university studies" and "Organisation"

Fulda University of Applied Sciences achieves top assessments in this year's university ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) and the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit". In a nationwide comparison, subjects in the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (ET) and Food Technology (LT) scored highly.

The assessments by students are almost entirely in the top range (at least 4 out of 5 stars). The Bachelor's degree programme in Mechatronics scored particularly well (at least 4.5 out of 5 stars). In addition to the room facilities, the general study situation, supervision by instructors and the management of studies were also assessed as the best. This is also reflected in the other subjects in the ET department. Students also praised the support provided during university studies and the resources of the library and IT. Maximum points were even achieved for contact with professional practice in both subjects.

The LT department was also able to maintain its good positions in the student evaluations of the CHE ranking at a high level. In addition to the good management of studies, students are particularly satisfied with the lab practicals and the practice orientation of teaching. The LT department also scored top marks for the international orientation of the ranked study programmes.

The Fulda University of Applied Sciences also performs excellently in a comparison of universities. In terms of the introduction to academic research and the learning and working spaces, the subject of mechatronics is even almost one star above the average of all German universities. "We are delighted that our students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences are once again very satisfied. The above-average assessments in terms of spatial and technical resources as well as practical orientation signal that we are setting the right specialisations as a university of applied research," says Prof. Dr Jörg Kreiker, Vice-President for Learning and Teaching and Digitisation.

The positive assessments for support at the start of studies and in the area of organisation and supervision also show that Fulda University of Applied Sciences' efforts to offer high-quality teaching with close personal support for students have proven successful. "These very good results confirm that the support offered by Fulda University of Applied Sciences in the introductory stage, such as preliminary courses or the introductory week, as well as individual counselling services, are well received by students," Vice-President Kreiker continues.

It is also a confirmation for Fulda University of Applied Sciences that the ever-increasing offer of special study options to make studies more flexible - such as the study at an adapted pace in the ET department (standard duration of studies 7 semesters or 9 semesters), dual and international programmes offered or the interdisciplinary study entry in subjects of the LT department - is showing great success. This is also allocated by the comparative figures: Fulda University of Applied Sciences has improved compared to the assessments of three years ago, especially in the offer of digital teaching elements. "We are very pleased about this. It also confirms that we should continue on this path," emphasises Professor Kreiker.

About the CHE University Ranking
The CHE University Ranking is a comprehensive and well-founded source of information for prospective students from German-speaking countries. It is compiled annually by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) in cooperation with the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit". The range of criteria covered is wide and varies from subject to subject. Each year, a third of the subjects are re-evaluated; this year it is the subjects of architecture, electrical engineering and information technology, mechatronics, process engineering as well as the subject groups of applied natural sciences, civil and environmental engineering and mechanical engineering.

For Fulda University of Applied Sciences, this corresponds to subjects in the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology) comprises assessments of students on Bachelor's degree programmes in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Renewable Energies. The subject Mechatronics (department ET) corresponds to student evaluations from the Bachelor's degree programme Mechatronics at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. The subject of Applied Natural Sciences (department LT) has also been assessed. Here, students of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences have assessed the Bachelor's degree programmes Food Technology and Engineering and Management Life Sciences.
