PIANALE prizewinners will still be giving concerts tonight at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences

FULDA Visitors to the campus of Fulda University of Applied Sciences yesterday, Wednesday, were treated to an unforgettable evening. For the first time, prizewinners from the PIANALE International Academy & Competition were guests at a spring concert. Julius Egensperger and Milda Daunoraite told the success stories of their beginning and ongoing careers and delighted the audience with their skills.

Since 2007, numerous piano talents from all over the world have been presenting themselves to the Fulda audience every summer at the PIANALE International Academy & Competition during the now popular PIANALE Piano Festival. Each year, only one participant out of around 30 candidates wins the coveted Audience Award. In addition, the jury prize is awarded to the best participant of the PIANALE year.

Two exceptional talents with dedication
Julius Egensperger from Munich was celebrated as the youngest PIANALE Audience Award winner in 2021. He is now 18 years old and studying in his second semester at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg. Lithuanian Milda Daunoraite is now 24 years old. She won the jury prize at the PIANALE in 2016 at the age of 15 and has been one of Lithuania's most promising young pianists ever since.

The two talented pianists played an extraordinary program with works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin and Ginastera. They played each piece with dedication, which they also emphasised through their facial expressions and posture. The audience could literally feel the power of the music. The audience was touched and inspired. Tonight, Thursday 24 April, the prizewinners will be performing once again. It starts at 6 p.m. in Building 10 (SSC), Room 001, on the campus of Fulda University of Applied Sciences. Tickets are still available for ten euros at the university shop and also at the box office.
