Budget and supply technology : Building 46, Room 022
Household and supply technology is an essential part of the Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences and LifeCycle Catering study programmes. In the laboratory, technical devices and procedures for catering for people in private households are tested under practical conditions and their suitability for use is checked: Catering, cleaning and nursing of crockery, textiles, floor coverings and living spaces. Supply systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and hot water appliances are also connected to this.
The budget and supply technology laboratory offers future managers in the industry the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with proven practical expertise and to expand their own competences. The focus is on working with modern household technology under the premise of resource-conserving and energy-efficient handling.
Methods
The laboratory is particularly suitable for the realisation of:
- Tests on the serviceability of washing machines and comparison with the reference washing machine according to DIN 60456
- Tests on the suitability for use of dryers and determination of the final residual moisture content
- Tests on the suitability for use of ovens
- Tests on the influence of consumer behaviour on the energy consumption of household processes
- Tests on the suitability for use of dishwashers and manual dishwashing tests
