MSC PHN
Welcome to the department!
How quickly time flies - the new students have already completed the first four weeks of their university studies. During this period, they had the opportunity to settle in well at the department. In a look back, we show what the students were able to experience during this time.
A successful start: a look back at the first four weeks of studies for new students at the Department of Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences
The Department of Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences is delighted with the successful start to the new semester. Numerous new students started their university studies in October and had a time full of new experiences and exciting encounters.
At the beginning of the semester, an introductory week was held with a varied program to help the new students get started. This week comprised a combination of official welcome events, campus tours, introductions to relevant IT systems, viewings of laboratories and meetings with professors and employees.
This varied and individually designed program primarily supported social and academic connections within the department. In the first few weeks, getting to know fellow students was a central element of the programme. To this end, there were courses such as "Meet & Talk", which supported exchanges with students from higher semesters, as well as the mentoring programme, in which more experienced students support newcomers as they get to grips with everyday study life.
There were also numerous opportunities to get to know each other outside of the university, such as a field trip to Antoniushof for the new students on the English-language Master's programme IFBC or activities organised by the student association, such as a pub crawl and a walk and drink through Fulda.
We hope that all new students have settled in well to their new study routine and wish everyone a wonderful time in Fulda and successful university studies at the Department of Nutritional, Food and Consumer Sciences at Fulda University of Applied Sciences!.
