The Office for Teaching and Learning (DLS) is a service provider for all departments in matters relating to the support of teaching, learning and studying within the university. The services offered include advisory, accompanying and supporting activities in all phases of the design of higher education studies, curricula and the further development of teaching and learning processes.

We offer the departments, teachers and students a wide range of services, bundle competences and know-how in the areas of accreditation, e-learning, evaluation, support programmes, university didactics, writing lab, self-learning as well as tutorial assistance and qualification.

Quality development

Quality development in teaching and learning encompasses all essential processes in the further development of study programmes as well as in the optimisation of the structures and processes related to teaching at the university. In particular, this is accompanied by the development of the university's teaching profile.

University didactics deals with all aspects of teaching and learning, with the aim of enabling university didactics professionalisation for lecturers through further training, advisory and coaching services. Here you will also find a collection of methods that introdues various didactic methods.

For Fulda University of Applied Sciences, the use of new media is an instrument for sustainably ensuring high quality in teaching and learning. In the e-learning lab, an interdisciplinary team works in advising and supporting the teching staff of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences as well as in designing and creating high-quality electronic teaching/learning materials and corresponding didactic scenarios.

As part of evaluations, the students will be actively involved in the quality assurance of teaching and learning. This not only gives them the opportunity to give their instructors feedback, but also to contribute to the further development of the study programmes and thus shape the future of the university.

The Qualification for Tutorial Work department offers basic and advanced courses for face-to-face and e-tutors as well as training for teachers. Constructive handling of conflicts, e-learning, peer learning, learning through teaching and moderation are practised.

The promotion of self-study aims to support students in the further development of their self-learning and self-organisation skills. The Self-Study Centre can be used by students as a central point of contact for this purpose. It offers rooms for studying alone or in groups, as well as advisory services and a suitable range of workshops on topics related to learning.

In order to promote a writing culture that can inspire and support students in many ways to achieve these goals, the writing lab offers courses for both students and teachers. In doing so, it wants to contribute to stimulating the exchange about academic writing among students and teachers.

The Accreditation Service Centre supports you in the development of study programmes (e.g. PO changes) and, in particular, in the implementation of accreditation procedures. The Service Centre is available as an advisory service throughout the entire process and can provide support in the preparation of documents for internal and external committees.

Funding programmes support the continuous development of university studies and teaching. In recent years, both internal university projects and inter-university joint projects have been supported through calls for proposals for third-party funding.
