Welcome to University Sports Fulda.

As we are in a sports context, our choice of language is more casual. This reflects the university sports culture, supports the inclusive character and international exchange, so that communication can take place at eye level.

Our goals

"The General University Sports Programme of Fulda University of Applied Sciences serves to fund the sporting interests of its members. Its offers should preferably serve popular and recreational sports" (University Law - Regulations for General University Sports Programmes).

University Sports thus corresponds to the ideas of the "sport-for-all movement", because here every person - within the scope of their possibilities and interests - should be offered the opportunity for physical activity, nursing social contacts, mental regeneration and sporting competition.

The University Sports programme is constantly being adapted to meet current needs. In addition to "basic sports", courses such as paragliding, cycling tours, climbing, back training, massage courses, etc. are temporarily incorporated. This broad spectrum offers everyone a space to develop and discover. The practical supervisors, most of whom are students, endeavour to offer a balance to university-based, intellectual training or everyday working life and thus fulfil the requirement of "a healthy mind in a healthy body" (mens sana in corpore sano).

Health, the ability to cooperate, consideration, fairness and much more are - especially in today's success- and performance-based times - values without which a dignified, humane life becomes impossible, which is why, in addition to performance, competition and health optimisation, fun, relaxation, regeneration and sociability are also among the goals of the university sports programme.

University Sports at Fulda University of Applied Sciences endeavours to offer competitive and high-performance athletes (squad athletes) adequate training and study conditions.

University Sports attaches great importance to a high standard of quality and safety. In addition to the usual qualifications for our sports courses, all licences for prevention courses are sent to and checked by health insurance providers. It is also important to us to train our practical supervisors in the areas of safety and first aid. In addition, they can take part in University Sports further education courses free of charge.

University Sports is offered to members of Fulda University of Applied Sciences for recreational and competitive sports. Participants from outside the university can take part in the training and exercise sessions, but the opportunity to attend competitions does not pass.

Lost property (clothing, jewellery, etc.) is deposited at the Student Service Centre (SSC). They can be collected there.

Information about the General University Sports Programme is available by appointment from the University Sports Office or, for specific sports, from the individual sports groups run by the practical supervisors. Information about special courses and competition dates can be found in the entrance area of the sports hall (Building 54) on the information monitor and noticeboards.

Experience shows that many people want to do something for their physical/mental well-being. However, they often don't know how, where, how often, with what, etc. they can train!

Not everyone can or wants to use a personal trainer. Many give fitness centres a wide berth. Club sports are often one-sidedly performance-based. On request, an information and counselling session can be managed in advance at the University Sports Office to find the right University Sports offer for your health.

Another option is our targeted and individualised equipment-based health training. After collecting personal data in a medical history form, our trainers create a personalised training plan. This allows them to find the right "university fair" in terms of training volume and intensity. If you are unsure whether the offer is suitable for you, you can contact the university sports office to clarify inclusion and exclusion criteria.
