Moved studying - Studying on the move 2.0

The scholarship programme for (more) movement on campus

"Bewegt studieren - Studieren bewegt 2.0" was the call from the German University Sports Association (adh) together with the health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) for the second round of this funding project. In the past coronavirus period in particular, students spent even more time sitting down due to home-studying, as there was no need to travel to the cafeteria, library or another seminar room.

Sports Centre at Fulda University of Applied Sciences took on these new challenges and started the support project in the 2020/21 winter semester, which was completed at the end of September 2023. The actual goal of encouraging students to exercise more on campus, in the lecture rooms, seminar rooms and study rooms was quickly rescheduled by the Sports Centre team and adapted to the current circumstances.
Students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences could now expect activities not only on the real campus, but also on the digital campus. Through various ideas, methods and possibilities, movement was experienced as a natural part of studying.
The exact content and ideas can be found in the following tabs.

FuSion - Fulda Students in Motion

The project was divided into three specialisations aimed at addressing students and active participation at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and motivating them to get more exercise in the digital and present university environment. The specialisations initially differed in terms of how they addressed the target group and the resulting content.

The specialisation in nudging focused on subtle "nudging". Indirectly and without much influence, e.g. from an instructor, members of the university were to be encouraged to move more.

The second specialisation, digital experience breaks, focused on shared experiences, especially in light of the recent pandemic. Despite digital courses, the experience breaks aimed to develop a sense of community; team tasks were combined with strengthening, mobilisation and stretching exercises.

The third specialisation was called "FuSion - The future is now". FuSion is a university app designed to motivate people to exercise more.
