Fulda University of Applied Sciences is a family- and community-friendly institution. It strives to create family-friendly working and study conditions and provides a great deal of support for its members with family responsibilities in reconciling family and studies or work.
Personal family situations vary greatly, which is why we offer not only information for self-research, but also individual consultations and talks.
Fulda University of Applied Sciences sees the need to make it easier to reconcile family and studies or work and wants to provide family-friendly support within the scope of its possibilities. To this end, it uses the "family-friendly university" audit conducted by berufundfamilie gGmbH - an initiative of the Hertie Foundation.
We started our journey back in May 2006 and received the certificate for the first time. After successful re-audits in 2009, 2012 and 2015, we have been permanently awarded for sustainable family-friendly working and study conditions since 2018. The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kathrin Becker-Schwarze, is responsible in the Presidential Board.
The association"Familie in der Hochschule e.V." (Family in Higher Education) offers an excellent supplement to further development. Fulda University of Applied Sciences became a member in 2019 - it is committed to the framework of the association's charter. In particular, the specific exchange of best practices provides us with new opportunities and impulses for the topic.
